Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail XT Impressions

First Test Ride of the 2014 Wildcat Trail XT

Chad took out a 2014 Wildcat Trail XT and put 30 miles on it over the weekend. He had it in various situations, such as climbing and descending trails, in the rocks, snow and some water crossings.

First impressions: sitting down in the Wildcat Trail is fairly comfortable, even for a big guy ( 6’2” and 265lbs).  The steering wheel has a thicker grip to help grip the wheel. There could be a bit more leg room, shifter is easy to use and all switches are easy to see and get to.  Both gas and brake pedal were easy to get to in hiking boots and comfortable to maintain a position on.

Ride on the Arctic Cat Wildcat trail is very comfortable and stable in all the situations. Ride is so smooth that there were no unexpected jolts from the gas or brake pedal.

The Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail has a great low center of gravity! It is stable and ‘confidence inspiring’ in off camber situations and places when a tire is off the ground. The Trail is stable and drove well at 50 mph on a smooth gravel road. The Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail never felt uncomfortable or had any surprises.

The steering (even with the lack of power steering) is great! The Arctic Cat Wildcat Trail that was tested does not have power steering.  Most of the time in the 30 miles driven it was able to be maneuvered with one hand.  The steering was positive, smooth, and responsive. Chad’s only complaint is that the steering might be just a touch heavy in quick full steering moments with one hand.

Power: The 700 cc in line twin motor is adequate even above timber line climbing steep inclines.  Throttle response is crisp and pulls strong.  The Arctic Cat Wildcat will run 50 MPH on gravel road with more to go.  Clutching was quick to engage and had good hold back going downhill. The motor and clutch also recovered quickly to re accelerate when getting to the bottom.

Overall impressions:  Chad was very pleased with the UTV. Good power, great ride, very stable, comfortable to ride in, responsive steering, great braking  and the storage area can carry coolers and bags easily while accepting most 1” ratchet straps easily.

Chad would like a touch more leg room and better fender protection from the spray off of the tires. Overall for the price paid compared to other side by sides the Wildcat Trail is a great vehicle.

Winter is upon us...

So being new to Arctic Cat and selling sleds and snowmobiles there is an air of excitement between the snow show and all of the product showing up. The Arctic Cat M8000 mountain sled was the first snowmobile to be delivered to Four To Go this fall, has been assembled and is ready for snow. With the cooler temperatures and rumors of snow falling in the high country the days are getting closer when the new machines can actually be taken out.

Arctic Cat Mountain sleds are made specifically for high mountain climbing and back country powder with lots of horsepower, light weight frame with lots of strength, vertical steering, and Fox Float suspension. Mountain sleds have 2 track lengths (153" and 162") as well as 3 motor sizes ... The 6000 and 8000 models feature a 2-stroke C-Tec2 fuel injected motor with the 8000 boasting 160 horsepower. The 9000 is one of the few 4-stroke motors featuring 177 horsepower.

Colorado Snowmobile Expo

This weekend is the Colorado Snowmobile Expo at the National Western Stock Show Complex in Denver. Four To Go is excited that for the first time we will be there with Arctic Cat.

Since expanding into the ATV/Snowmobile and Side by Side business Four To Go has had to learn and adjust to many new advertising and marketing ideas. This type of show is new to us. Although we have done shows on a much smaller scale before in the 4WD aftermarket I believe they are all just a little bit different.

Being that we are the closest dealer to the National Western Complex we have the privilege of seeing some of the displays and vehicles a little bit earlier than everyone, as they use our address as the shipping depot. Guess what? We don't keep secrets well! Here are some pictures of what we have ...

Our First Delivery ...

Hopefully they are sending someone to put this together also!

The 2015 WildCat Trail Limited --- they must love Denver with the orange accents!

David McClure's actual racing sled! They are trusting us to put this together ... Wish there was snow, we could take it for a test drive.

So come visit us this weekend. Saturday show hours are from 9 am - 7 pm and Sunday hours are 9 am - 2 pm. I believe there will be some specials on units if you come talk to one of us!
